The core team of Integral Politics Geneva (Aïma, François, and Marc) met on January 2, 2026, as the new year had just begun. This meeting was an opportunity to look back on our 2025 activities, take stock of them, and consider how we want to direct our energies for the year ahead.
We formed in 2024, and 2025 was our first real year of activity. During that time, we were able to prepare and publish political commentaries on three occasions regarding cantonal issues (the May, September, and November votes), with two of them appearing in the official brochure issued by the Geneva authorities.
In May, we took part in the Integral European Congress, along with Simon Berg, attending a range of conferences and workshops on integral politics that sparked strong interest and led to the creation of an international network on the topic. In particular, we met Professor Elke Fein, author of Integral Politics, with whom we have maintained close contact.
We also participated in both PI Switzerland general assemblies (May and November), which allowed us to get to know members from other cantons, build connections, and feel warmly welcomed with genuine enthusiasm.
The year ended beautifully with a meeting with Pascal Corminboeuf, former non-partisan State Councillor of Fribourg, who embodies another way of doing politics. What might politics without parties look like? This question deeply motivates us; we find great meaning in it and intend to keep exploring it, both within PI Switzerland and through the PI International network.
All these activities were regularly published on the PI Switzerland website, under the “PI Geneva” section.
We come out of this year enthusiastic, enriched, and full of momentum, aware that we are still learning.
We have mixed feelings about our experience with political commentaries. We learned a lot and began to get familiar with the integralisation method. However, we found that cantonal topics often generate little engagement and that the time spent taking positions is not always well invested. Moreover, obtaining an official publication faces two difficulties: collecting the required 50 signatures—which is challenging for a small network like ours—and having to express a simple “yes” or “no” stance, which goes against the integral spirit.
For 2026, we have decided to produce fewer political commentaries, focusing on the topics that seem most relevant to us. We will no longer seek official publication, at least until our network grows larger.
We are working on a presentation brochure to make Integral Politics better known and to clarify and strengthen our communication. This will also help us continue building connections in Geneva—another key objective for this year.
We want to keep organizing public evenings almost monthly, addressing various topics always in the spirit of the integralisation method. We would like to invite different guests or specialists to present topics, and we also plan to set up facilitated dialogue spaces on polarizing issues to foster listening in an arena where it is badly lacking.
We will, of course, continue to interact with PI Switzerland (we have joined the inner circle) and with the international network (an in-person meeting is expected to take place this summer).
We also aim, each of us individually, to integrate political awareness into our professional and personal activities, for politics, at its origin, is about the community and its citizens—that is, all of us.
In summary, here are the activities we plan for 2026, while remaining open to whatever emerges:
-
Produce a presentation brochure for Integral Politics.
-
Deepen and promote politics without parties.
-
Set up facilitated dialogues to reduce polarization in debates.
-
Continue monthly public meetings.
-
Expand our network of relationships and collaborations.
… all while taking care of ourselves, because political activity as it is currently practiced wears people down. The year 2025 made this clear through resignations, extended leaves, and even a suicide. Such a situation is clearly not the model of an enjoyable and sustainable society.
