Methodology
The IP consciously shapes its actions and applies integral forms of cooperation.
Integralisation Method for Evaluating Political Proposals
The integralisation method developed in the IP is a special feature. It describes the approach of IP working groups that deal with the integral assessment of political issues and integral political positioning The aim is to respectfully search for the common motivation in opposing political demands and to integrate all useful aspects of the different positions into a new whole.
Detailed Method
The IP uses the detailed integralisation method to evaluate federal and cantonal proposals for popular vote.
The aim is to find and formulate an integral position towards the proposals.
In a five-stage process with several sub-steps, a group of around five to seven people evaluate a policy proposal from an integral perspective.
The evaluation of a proposal takes approx. 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
Simplified Method
The IP uses a simplified version of the integralization method to evaluate initiatives and referendums. We usually do this while the proposal is still collecting signatures from the population to qualify for popular vote.
The aim is to create a concise integral position.
The intended group size is four people and the process, like the detailed method, is actively led by a facilitator.
A political proposal can be evaluated using the simplified method in approx. 30 minutes.
