Project Politics 2.0 and New Politics

Our Goals

Within the Politics 2.0 project, we aim to

  • create public awareness that even a comparatively good political system can and must evolve,
  • initiate a public discussion on what a further developed policy committed to the common good could look like
  • promote a culture in which all people in the country, without exception, are invited to help shape social coexistence with their hearts and hands
communicate that change will only happen if politics is seen as something that evolves by broad sections of the population. Only when people are asked, involved and empowered to act will they get involved and take responsibility.

Why is political development necessary?

A political system that is not evolving,

  • Missed opportunities for a better future
  • Cements injustices and grievances
  • creates a growing rift between politics and the population
  • is increasingly concerned with self-preservation rather than the whole
  • asks the wrong questions

If politics is to keep pace with the development of society, if systemic weaknesses are to be remedied and potential exploited, if the problems to be solved are to be tackled fundamentally rather than just superficially, then this requires a further developed way of doing politics – a New Politics.

Characteristics and values of a New Politics

[The characteristics and values of a New Politics are the subject of an ongoing survey, which will be summarized here after evaluation]

How do we implement the project?

How New Politics works is not defined by a single person or organization, but by society as a whole. We therefore

  • identify people and organizations with convincing ideas, initiatives and projects in the spirit of the New Politics. We connect with them, we interview them and we publicize their ideas
  • are planning public forums, debates and lectures on the topic of New Politics
  • invite you to contribute your own ideas and suggestions for implementation!

Activities

Interviews with pioneers of the New Politics

New Politics is not created through theoretical definitions, but through practical experimentation and application.

We interview people and organizations that have already gained experience with new political formats and publish them here. The first interview took place on 23.9.2024. Further interviews are in preparation.

Round table (networking, exchange of experience, inspiration)

You will soon find the next planned round tables here, where pioneers of New Politics can get to know each other, inspire each other and exchange experiences.

Public forums, debates and lectures

As you can see, we are still in the development phase. In future, this section will list our events, which we hope will arouse your curiosity.

The project team

Many people are involved in the Politics 2.0 project. These are the core team members:

David Bussmann, IP Lucerne

“We humans once again need an essentially shared vision that is bold, clever and courageous enough to venture beyond the structures we have artificially created.”

The New Politics also asks fundamental questions such as “Where do we actually want to go as a society?” and “Do we simply want to carry on as before for the next 50 years?”.

Guidelines of the Policy 2.0 project

  • We recognize and value the achievements of the current political system.
  • We invite all people to take on political responsibility themselves.
  • We create dialog and thus combine different perspectives and polarities.
  • We are curious, listen attentively, but also ask critical questions.
  • We are also on air, but above all on reception.
